Tegan Wahlgren [she/they] is a composer, performer, and music producer based on the unceded territories of the Musqueam, Squamish, and Tsleil-Waututh Nations (Vancouver, Canada). Her scores and performances have been presented by Vancouver International Film Festival, musica intima vocal ensemble, and Music On Main. As an artist born out of Vancouver’s experimental music + independent pop scenes, with a background in Celtic fiddle and choral singing, Tegan moves with ease between genres and worlds. Her experimental pop project, Wallgrin, feels equally at home being programmed at international popular music festivals (The Great Escape, Tallinn Music Week, FOCUS Wales) or by experimental and contemporary classical presenters (New Forms Festival, Music On Main, Western Front, Vancouver New Music). She holds a BFA in Music Composition from Simon Fraser University, and regularly contributes to various recordings as a session vocalist and violinist. As Wallgrin, she has released two albums — Bird/Alien (2018) and Yet Again The Wheel Turns (2022).
