Tegan Wahlgren [she/they] is a composer, performer, and music producer based in Toronto, Canada. Their scores and performances have been presented by Vancouver International Film Festival, musica intima vocal ensemble, and Music On Main. As an artist born out of Vancouver’s experimental music + independent pop scenes, with a background in Celtic fiddle and choral singing, Tegan moves with ease between genres and worlds. Their experimental pop project, Wallgrin, feels equally at home being programmed at international popular music festivals (Iceland Airwaves, The Great Escape, Tallinn Music Week) or by experimental and contemporary classical presenters (New Forms Festival, Music On Main, Western Front, Vancouver New Music). They holds a BFA in Music Composition from Simon Fraser University, and regularly contributes to various recordings as a session vocalist and violinist. As Wallgrin, they have released two albums — Bird/Alien (2018) and Yet Again The Wheel Turns (2022).
